Twin Star is honored to host Rosemary's classic home-study course, The Science & Art of Herbalism, in an in-person format meeting one Saturday afternoon for 10 months. Join the hundreds of herbalist alumni that have taken this course both as an introduction to herbalism and as complementary to their already ever growing herbal knowledge and experience. Herbalist Rebekah Sutter hosts the 2023 weekend class, with guest teacher herbalist Lupo Passero. Rebekah will guide students through each lesson, reviewing foundational herbal concepts and leading hands on herbal medicine making. By joining Twin Star for this course, participants experience the traditional course content in a community class setting, allowing for herbal mentorship and guidance, tactile herbalism experiences including botanical remedy crafting and local plant i.d. garden walks, and an herbal peer group to journey alongside with for the duration of course. The Science & Art of Herbalism includes a beautifully printed course binder with over 500 pages of instruction compiled over 40 years of Rosemary’s personal herbal experience. With monthly weekend classes, this course is ideal for folks who may not have the weekday availability for other trainings offered through Twin Star. This 10 month journey together creates a structured container for completing the historically self-led course and receiving well-deserved certificates of completion from both Rosemary Gladstar's school Sage Mountain AND Twin Star Herbal Education.

Class Schedule:

Classes will be held at Twin Star in New Milford, CT on one Saturday Afternoon from 1:00 to 4:30 pm each month for course overview, herbal lab time and study group. In the event of inclement weather or illness, Twin Star reserves the right to host the class online via ZOOM. In the event of student absences, classroom classes will be recorded for later review. Please note that outdoor classes may not be available to record.

SATURDAYS: January 28, February 25, March 18, April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22, August 19, September 16, October 21st, Graduation Date: December 2nd

Program Details:

This 10 Lesson course includes Rosemary’s core curriculum, a specially designed binder, correction of all homework, and a certificate upon successful completion of the course. The Lessons are designed to provide practical, hands-on experience with each assignment designed to enrich your personal experience with the plant world. Each lesson provides directions and recipes on making herbal preparations, dozens of herbs to research, projects such as making an herbal first aid kit, designing an herb garden, making your own herbarium and much more.  

Investment:

Tuition for this program is $1,500 and includes all instruction, materials, correspondence course ($375 value), class time monthly, correction of all homework, a certificate from Sage Mountain signed by Rosemary Gladstar upon completion, as well as a 125 Hours of Herbal Mentorship Certificate from Twin Star. You can reserve your spot by making a deposit. Meet your Teacher:

Rebekah Sutter is a community herbalist & artist residing in the rolling hills of Northwest Connecticut. Bekah's passion lies in combining the healing physical, energetic & plant spirit magic of the herbal world with the creation of beautiful hand-crafted artwork and herbal remedies. Since first joining the Twin Star Tribe in the summer of 2013, she has completed various herbal trainings including: Foundations of Herbalism, Practices and Protocols of Herbalism, Tropical Herbalism in Costa Rica, Flower Essence Practitioner Training and our Seed to Market Advanced Herbal Training. She had served as the Twin Star Herbal Apprentice for over five years before stepping up into the role as Herbal Educator and has helped Lupo co-teach a variety of classes throughout that time and beyond. Rebekah skillfully creates and crafts the majority of herbal preparation in our apothecary and also co-teaches in the Art & Science of Herbalism, The Spiral Path Women’s Medicine Way Course, Foundations of Herbalism and Introduction to Herbalism courses and more.
